Meaning
The first objective I went forward with was to really understand what it means to attend a Lantern Festival by thinking about why people attend, what actually happens, and qualities associated with a floating lantern festival.
While many people attend for many different reasons, ultimately I concluded that one of the most important aspects of a Lantern Festival is that of community–sending your lantern off with hundreds of others. In my final product the main function is to have your lantern join the others.

Aside from the main objective, another goal of this project was to learn how to use Framer. Framer is an interactive prototyping tool which uses CoffeeScript, a simplified version of Javascript. While Framer offers different tools to help with auto-code and design, I chose to create the assets in Sketch and hand code everything.
